Greetings everyone.I wanted to post some pictures of my work place and maybe share a little bit about my work and work place. I am an 8th grade teacher of Dalipebinaw Community School (DBCS). It has been two years since I've been teaching and this year will be my third year.

New name for an old blog

Greetings to all. I'm reviving my blog again and the purpose of this blog to update my ministry here in Yap and seeking prayer partners to pray for me and the work here. My reason for this name for this blog is because I was commissioned by the Palauan Evangelical Church in Palau as missionary to Yap. Also Yap is my home island so the name fits my current status. So please if you are reading my blog, I ask for your prayers.
Just to give you on an update, I'm doing my ministry at Yap-Palauan Evangelical Church (my home church) leading Bible studies in different places, Youth ministry, Preaching on Sundays, and sometimes leading Sunday services. I'm also a teacher at a local school called Dalipebinaw Community School teaching the 8th grade class. So again I ask you for your prayers and encouragements. Thank you.

Greetings fans. sorry for the long delay. But your favorite star is back. (Charity:"Whatever. hahaha.") Anyways, in case you were wondering, I'm doing fine on my home island Yap. I'm here serving under the Palauan Evangelical Church of Yap. My position in the church is Missionary. Yes, I was commissioned in the Palauan Evangelical Church of Palau (our mother church) and have sent me to here. so now I'm here and serving our church. Lately I've been doing some work. For the past two months I've been teaching the Bible study of our church, also teaching in Youth bible study, and also helping with other church duty.
Anyways, I have a few prayer request. Please for the bible study. Many times I worry about teaching the wrong ideas but I have faith in God (but i do check my sources). Pray for our church. In the past week we had a funeral because one of our members is now with the Lord. Also pray for our young people (youths). Pray that we can reach out to them through some of our youth activites.

In case your were wandering, i'm not died. Maybe not yet. But sorry for the long waited post. It's been a hictic semester for me. You know trying to finish that last assignment, making reports, etc. Well, now I'm over that. No more homeworks for me. No more reports. No more staying up late for last minute assignment. Yes! I have completed all my courses for this semester and my whole time in PIBC. I am an official graduate. Right now it's freedom from here on.
Although I feel happy about finish PIBC, I also feel kinda sad also. I will miss PIBC. The friends I've made. The fellowship I had with them. The endless laughter together. (sniff, sniff). HUH. Well I guess I have to move on. At this time I would like to take tis opportunity to say my thanks. First of all I would like to thank you all for your support for me(the readers of this blog). Your prayers really helped and encouraged me to continue on. Please don't stop praying for me. The staff and teachers at PIBC. I know you all get headache from all my nonsense in class and out but hey, you gave me headache too. With all the work. The guys at the dorm and the dean of men and assistant dean of MEAN (LOL). And the sisters of the women's dormitory. Also my friend Mel. Thanks alot for everything. To all my friends and famliy. And most of all to God who strengthens me everyday to go on and His promise to complete a good work in me. Okay if i continue I might cry. Thank you everyone. Please continue to remember me in your prayers especially now that I'm graduating and trying to decide what to do with my life. All right thanks again everyone. Be seeing ya all soon.

Tribute to the Stinnettes

Today is the Stinnettes' last day on Guam. As I've shared before they will be leaving to the U.S. so that Steve would get his eye surgery. This short clip was put together by Steve and I. The clip is a short summary of Steve and Ann's time here in Micronesia. They have served the Lord here in Micronesia for over 20 years. So let's remember them in our prayers especially Steve as he goes through the surgery.
Thank you Steve and Ann Stinnette for your faithfulness to God and serving Him here in Micronesia. You will be missed.

Three weeks have already passed since the school started and only 12 more to go. It's so surprising to realize that 3 weeks has already passed. Man time flies! Anyrates, what's been happening? This will be Steve and Ann's last week on Guam. If all is planned well then they will leave this Wednesday for the U.S. Please let's remember him in our prayers as goes back for surgery and that he will be well. We will miss you Steve and Ann. WAAAIIIOOOO! Also last week I've finally met with Hiob, Holly, and Steve as we planned for my intership. It's seems like they are working on it (getting the right contact, where I will work in Thailand, etc.) and hopefully when I am finished on December, I'll do my intership in Thailand in January. Please pray that God will guide us and help us make the right contact and plan it out well. Also pray for me because this is a big step for me and I'm willing to give it try and hopefully in the future I can be a missionary there in Thailand.
Well, that's all been happening here. Please continue to pray for our staff and faculity and also pray for the students here at PIBC. Thanks again for your prayers and support.

Back to School!

It's that time of year again. Yep! Today is the first day of classes to begin their sessions for Fall Semester 2007. This year there is an estimate of 90 students or more. Both full-part and part-time. Most of them are returning students and also transfers from Tol Campus. Not a whole lot on the freshmen. Also this year both dorms are holding about 35-36 students each. WOW! People are trying to squeeze in together and spaces are running out. Pretty soon we'll be sleeping on top of each other (sounds wrong). Another great news I have only 3 more courses to graduation. 2X WOW! Man, I'm was really relieved when I found I need only 3 more courses. Waaaiiiooooo. Can't wait to march down the aisle. But also I'm feeling sad cause I'm leaving behind a really great family here. Sure gonna miss them. Well that's all the good news that happening here. Just have a couple of prayer request that i would like to ask you all to pray for:
1. Pray for the students. Especially those who are trying to finish up. Pray that we can focus on our studies and work hard for the classes.
2. Pray the staff and faculity. They have a lot on their hands. Especially because Steve won't be Campus Director anymore. They are trying to adjust with the situation. ALso pray for Jens as he takes on the responsibilty as the new Campus Director.
3. Pray for Steve S. He will be leaving soon. He needs to move back to the states and be close to the hospital so he could do his regular check ups. You can read more about him on his own blog.
4. Pray for me. Yes, I'm so excited about graduating but not about leaving PIBC. I still don't know what to do after PIBC. However, I ask that you pray for me because in January, I plan to go back to Thailand to do my intership their and also see if this what God wants in my life. To be a missionary there. Please pray that God will give me guidance and wisdom in making this decision.

WE'RE BACK!!!

Hey everyone. We are back on Guam! Just want to say thanks again to all who supported by reading this blog and praying for the team (both). (sniff, sniff) My heart is so grateful. The trip was a great experience for me. God has open my eyes to things that I have not seen. One thing that really stood is that before I left to Thailand, I got some good lessons on Joshua Project (remember Steve's presentation). But it was one thing to learn about it than to experience it. Thailand happens to be in that area what Joshua Project calls it the 10/40 window (check the website for more details) and also the country is 99% Buddism. Along with my team (TESL), we have lived in village where the villagers have not heard the Gospel. God opened my eyes to see that and that they need to know about His messege. I think of what Jesus told His disciples "Look! The field is ready for harvest..." Now I know what He means. God has opened my eyes to see and experience that people are ready to hear God's messege and that they need to hear it. And so I am thinking to go back to Thailand. To do my internship there and while I'm doing it, I want to know that if this is what God is calling to do in Thailand. To be a missionary there (sounds scaring to say). So I'm asking you (who are reading my blog) to pray for me. I do have plans after PIBC but if this is God's call for me then... Just please pray for me. I want to go back and see if God is really calling me to be a missionary there. I'm getting scared as I talk more about this because of what missionaries go through as they are "missioning." But please I ask for your prayers. I have one more semester to go. Like I said, I do have plans but that's Mac's plan. I want to know what's God's plan. So please pray.

Greetings to all. Thank you again for your prayers and support. On be-half of the Thailand Mission Team (both) we would like to give our thanks to all who support and prayed for us. Thank you.

Today is our Last day here in Thailand. At 5 o'clock today Lord willing, we will be leaving back home to Guam. The ESL team left Nong Khai on Friday last week and took an 8 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai where we joined the Evangelism team. After joining a Sunday service in Chiang Mai, we left Chiang Mai by plane and arrived Bangkok. For the last two days, we spent our time sight-seeing and mostly shopping. Now we are getting ready to leave and pray that we will arrive safely.

The team with the Prhomokotaras at the Khon Kaen Church. Mr. Wathana is on the right and next to him is his wife.

Yesterday while attending a school fair at Khon Kaen city (about 200 miles from Nong Kwai), we met Mr. Wathana Prhomokotara. Mr. Wathana is the senior pastor of Khon Kaen Church. A church in the heart of the city that holds 3 services for 400 members. Mr. Wathana also happens to be the former roommate of pastor Hiob (PIBC Dean of Men) while studying in seminar in Los Angeles, USA. We were all happy and pleased to meet Mr. Wathana and his family. It was so exciting for me to find our "family" in a country that is 90% buddhism. It's like finding hope in middle of struggle. The Khon Kaen Church are also planting church in the northern part of Thailand. The church has planted ten churches. They are planning to plant more and this time going down south. Please remember Mr. Wathana in your prayers and the church as they are planning to plant more churches. Also remember his son in your prayers. He is currently studying the university to be an architect. Thanks again.

Stella and I taking picture with our 3rd grade class. Stella and I are teaching the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. Friday last week, Stella and I taught the class alone without a Thai teacher to help translate for us. "Sanuk dai."

Hey everyone. It's already been three weeks here and next week we'll be leaving. We've had lots of fun teaching and making friends with the students here at the school. Last week Sunday was our last time to meet with the children. At the end of our gathering we gave them the 4 Spiritual Laws (translated in Thai). Pray for them that as they read that God would open the hearts and mind to the Gospel and understand. We also gave one Bible to a student and had her be the one in charge of it. Any of the students who wanted to read could get it from her. It's in Thai language of course.

Here some prayer requests:

Please continue to pray for the people here in Nong Kwai. Before we leave, we plan to give Thai Bible to hosts as gifts and also few of the 4 Spiritual Laws. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in there hearts.
Please also pray for us. Pray for us as we are trying to reach out to this people. Pray that God would give us the right time and the right words.
Also pray for the other team. They are in Chang Rai evangelizing in the university campuses. We also are planning to meet with them in Chang Mai (city about 800 m. from where we are and about 200 m. from the other team). We plan to meet together with the Campus Crusade there. So please for that.

Greetings from Thailand pt. 2

Hey everyone. Thanks for your prayers. We are now in a small village here in the north called Nong Kwai. We are teaching English here in a primary school called Nong Kwai Primary School. Everyone is doing fine and they are really enjoying there classes. Ethel is teaching the 6th graders and Elilia the 5th, Twinsanne the 4th, and Stella and I are teaching 1 to 3th grade. It's really exciting for all of us. Please continue to pray for us, the people here in the village, and that we can reach out to them. They have never heard of Jesus and what He has done. So please pray for us. The must difficult thing we have is communication and language barrier. Only a hand full of people can speak English (mostly the teachers of the school) and also few students know few English. However we are communicating to them through songs. Last Thursday, we taught some of the kids some English Christian song. So please continue to pray for us and also the people here in Nong Kwai. Thanks again for your support everyone. I'll be trying to post as much as I can about Thailand. Okay... bye for now.

Hey everyone
First of all I'd like to apology for not updating blog for the last few months. I kind of got side tracked and got caught up in my works. But anyway, thanks for you prayers and your support.
Right now I'm in Bangkok, Thailand with a group from PIBC. The purpose of our mission trip here is that we are going to be teaching English as a Second Language in a small town up north from Bangkok.
SO please pray for us as we are teaching and also at the same time sharing God's message to the Thai people. For some reiligon background, 90% of the population in Thailand are Buddhists. SO please pray for the people and for us so that we are able to share the Gospel to them.
Well I need to end here. The team are eager to get out and look around and do some shopping. Later tonight we'll be taking the train and headed for Nong Khai, a small province up north. That's where we'll be teaching. Okay thanks again everyone.

Hey everyone. Just wanna update some things happening here at PIBC and I also ask that you pray for these things...
1. The Annual PIBC Board Meeting will be held this week. The meeting is on March 28-30 (Wed.-Fri.). Pray that the members and that they will have wisdom in making descions for the future of PIBC.
2. On March 31 to April 2, we are celebrating our PIBC days here in Guam campus. Pray that students not only have fun but also grow more closer togthere and with God. Also pray for good weather and that no one will be injuried.
3. The churches in Chuuk will be celebrating their 100 year anniversary of the arrival of the Gospel. Pray for the churches and their elders, pastors, and deacons as they prepare for this events. Pray for some of the stuff from Guam who will be joining them. Like Dave Owen and Harold Gorges.
4. There are two mission trips this summer. One will be to Thailand and the other to the Marshall Islands. The Thailand trip consist of two teams. One team is the campus evangelism team and the other is the TESL team (More details soon). Pray for the students who are going on both trips (Thailand and Marshall) (more details soon). Pray for the funds that needs to be raised also. More details soon will be provided about these trips.
5. Please also continue to pray the staff and facuilty who are working hard here in PIBC. Also pray for the students that we can continue to study hard and work hard for our classes.

What happened was that I kinda forgot my pass word (which I got back later) and then the blooger site had updated somethings that I didn't know. So I thought I was making a new account which I didn't want. So I went back and forth, going some places. Finally I understood what to do and got in. YEAH! Praise the Lord! We finally arrived safely in Yap. We've been here already for 3 days and we've been active with a lot of ministries. Yesterday, we did our ministry at the Outer Island Community (small community of people from the outer islands of Yap) and the day before that, we performed at the Colonia Middle School and then the High School. Today the team is taking a break and tomorrow we'll be at the Palauan Church and then in the evening we'll be at the Rumuu' Church.

Thanks for your prayers and we ask that you continue to pray for:
*The people of Yap. That their hearts will always be ready for the Gospel and also that be willing to listen to the message.
*For the ministries that we are doing. We have a lot in our hands. Pray that every ministry would go according to God's will and also that Satan would not attack us during the ministries.
*for the team. Pray for unity among us. Pray that we will remember our purpose why we are in Yap.

Well this week some of the students are already starting to leave back for their home islands. Even though the break is 4 weeks long still we will miss them alot. Today some of them left and also some will leave tomorrow. We remember some of the people who won't be joining us next semester. Philemon who has been a student here for so long and now he has finally made it through all his courses and in May 2007, he will be marching in his graduation. Also Jafflyn whom also won't be here next semester. She also has finished her courses and like Phil, she'll be waiting for graduation. Well it's been great to know these guys and hope to see them in the future.

Wow. The semester is almost over. Students are in their last week of exams, last projects, last-minute homework, last classes, last unpreached message, last speech, and last time with friends and classmates and roommates before Christmas break. Sniff, sniff! :( Anydays, heading towards our last week makes us wonder what are going to do this school break.
For some of us, we'll be spending most our time in Yap for the mission trip. Some can't wait to go home and see their families and spend the holidays with them. Some maybe want to hang around in Guam and enjoy the so called "urban life." But I pray that most of us (PIBC students) will spend our break sharing the Gospel to at least one person.
Well we have 3 more days and I hope we all will finish well this semester.

Hey everyone. Just in case you were wondering, I'm still alive and running (well I mean). Sorry for the long wait. I've been busy with homework and all. Anydays, one more week and School is over (Hallelujer). Working really hard to catch up and all.

Here are some of my prayer request...
1. Pray for me. That I could finish well this semester. After this semester I only have 8 more courses to take. I'll be graduating next year Fall semester. So pray that I would finish well.
2. I've been chosen to go on a mission trip to Yap. 12 students including me will be going to Yap on Dec. 20 for ministry. Pray that we will have the exact amount of money (each student should raise $500) and pray for the ministries in Yap. We will be doing children's ministry, youth ministry, Church ministry, and evangelism to the Yapese people.
3. Pray for the students of PIBC. Pray that we all will finish well this semester and also pray for the students as some of us will be going back home to our islands. Pray that we can be witnesses to our families, our friends, and our island people.

Hey waz up everyone. Maybe you're wondering what's with the weird outfit. Well this whole week was our spirit week. Everyday we dress according to what has been decided on that day. It was really cool to see our people participate in this occasions.

Monday as red day, then Tuesday was hat day, Wednesday was funky day (my favorite day), then Thursday was formal day, and then today (Friday) is island wear day. It was really cool to see the students participate in this occasions and to see some really cool dress up from each person. Well this all I've got and maybe I'll be posting more later. Especially posting on our spiritual emphasis retreat weekend.

A Birthday Shout Out....

Just wanna say happy birthday to my 2 bros here. Happy birthday to Sato (on the left) who just turned 22 this year and also happy b-day to Randy (on the right) who just turned 23. Thank God for them and that they are here in PIBC and maybe not somewhere else doing something (Hallelujer). Okay guys happy b-day and my God continue to pour out his blessings on you guys. AMEN! Hallelujer!

Our New Dorm 3 (the completion)

It's finally finished! The moment you've all been waiting for. Our new dorm is complete. Thanks to some hard working students and a dedicated staff member, the new dorm is finally finished and ready for 8 men to move in. The project took about a month to finish and thanks to Peter Vaas and his team, it's finally over. On Friday (11/10), we had an open house party for the new dorm and everone got to tour the new dorm.

The dorm is big enough for 8 men (4 in each room) and has 2 showers and 2 toliet in one bathroom and also includes AC (hallelujer).

Well, that's all for that. We thank God for His provision for our new home. We may have done the hard work but all glory goes to God for provide the finances and the people who helped. We also pray in the future for a new kitchen also. Where students can have their meal everyday. For now we are grateful that God has provides us this new home.

Now for an update. Last time the maintenance crew was was digging a trench in order to install water and sewer pipes. Finally they have installed the pipes and it's ready to be buried. Everything is connected already. Water, sewer, and electricity. Now the crew are working very hard to get everything ready before the end of the month. The guys can't wait to move in to their new dorm. The dorm is complete with bedrooms and bathrooms and have the privilage of using the AC (hallelujer!).

Can't wait to see it finish. We're even getting help from people to clean the inside (sorry I didn't provide pix for that). Anydays, the dorm is near it's end. Soon 8 guys will be living in the new Men's dorm (hallelujer!).

You've heard again and I will Say it again. HAPPY BIRHTDAY to Melissa Heck. Ms. Melissa is the new dean of women. So far I know she's been here for maybe about 3-4 months already. Yesterday was her 40th birthday. Hallelujer! Last nite we celebrated her birthday with Ice Cream Sundaes and we had the court lites turned on til late. (another Hallelujer!) Happy Birthday Melissa and may God continue to bless you just as He did on you pervious 39 years of life. AMEN!

Okay first of all sorry I haven't update my blog for awhile. Many great things happened and maybe I'l just give short summaries of each.

Ritidian Beach Party

Two Saturdays ago, PIBC staff and students got togther and had our BBQ at Ritidian Point. It was great day (no rain. Yeah!) and there was a nice cooooooooool breeze. Great time to sleep and rest. Anydays, we had fun. Some of us swam and some played volleyball and some just slept. HEH!

Car Wash

Also last Saturday, we had our car wash. What was different about this car wash is that we had two different location to have car wash. Both car wash went well (only a minor of rain fell). For me, I joined the team at the Lutheran Church of Guam. So far we have made about 700+ on both car wash.

The early run

Early this morning me and a few guys went running at Tiyan. We took Ned Farnsworth who is our new assitant dean of man. I thought we had a good run this morning especially with some of the guys and Ned and I think it went well for us. While running, we got to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and passing greetings to each runner we pass by. Though I was the last one to finish the lap but we had fun. After that we came back and played basketball (4 on 4) and exercise more. After that we went back to the dorms and ate and went on to class.

Our New Dorm

Well, not exactly mine. I won't be moving in. But 8 men will be moving in the new container house. Complete with four beds and two bathrooms. Well at least that's what they said. Right now it's still under construction. For the past couple of weeks the maintance crew have been digging to have the new sewer and water pipe placed under ground.

As you can see from this picture, the digging had to be done behind the container house in order to have pipes connected for water and sewer. The maintance crew used tools to do this digging including a backhoe.

Calvin Assito is the one behind the wheels of this monster. And he really knows how to operate one this machine. He's been digging with the backhoe for the past few days already and yesterday they were finish with the digging. Now the have the pipes laid out and ready to be placed in the hole. I'll keep you updated on our new house and more on the progress as we are looking towards the completion of our new dorm.

Prophetic Literature Class

This my Prophetic Literature Class. We are learning about the prophetic books in the Bible such as Jeremiah, Hosea, Joel, Obadiah, Amos, Micah, Jonah, Nahum, and lamination. This class is really interesting because I've not really looked at these books before and you know what. I'm getting a lot of good insights on them.

This my professor. Dr. Dave Owen. You may recognize him from his own blog or from the pibc website. He's a great teacher. In his class there is always something to discuss. Whether we are on the subject or off. All his assignments requires you to think and meditate on the work. Sometimes it gives me headache but I really like it when he asks us to apply what we've learned to our lives.

We have lots of things to talk about in his class. Sometimes what we get from the homework, we share it class and encourage each other. We not only learn but we also get deep application from the work and great encouragement from each other. It's really encourage to see this things.

Sometimes I think of teachers who take what they know and present in a way for students to understand. But in this class I not only get that but also how to apply what I've learned to my life. I guess it's not enough just to store your brain with information but you also should know how to use that information to help you in your life. This is what I like about Dave. This is a good teaching method to learn from someone who teaches like that. Maybe I should use this method someday when I begin to teach.

Student Preacher

This is John Aitaro. He is one of the full-time students here in PIBC. I've known John for the whole time I was here (4 yrs.). John is from Palau and has been living on Guam for quiet some time. He is also a leader for the Young Adult in his church (PECG). Today John was preaching at the Palauan Evangelical Church of Guam. This was his second time to preach in the PECG. Today though he was preaching in English and so I went to hear his preaching.

He had a great message that challenged me and also made me meditate on it. His main message was "pleasing God." As I was listening, he asked a question that had me thinking about it. How are you pleasing God? It hit me that in many things I do it should please God. I asked myself "how am I pleasing God?" I really see myself in all that I do and many times I do things to please myself. But I remember John preaching that our main purpose is to please God in all things. Colossian 3:17 says "and whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it in the name of our lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Yes. It's true that in all we do we should be do it in a way to please God because this our Christian life purpose.

Fun-Nite

Last nite we had our fun-nite. The theme was Ice Breaking Nite. Well we did alot of breaking. I got to see some of the wild side of students and staff (I've never seen this side of Melissa before). Last nite some people whom I thought who were quiet and shy, were not really quiet and shy. They had some real fun in them. I wonder why they don't show it before? But anyways, it was really fun watching them acting and dancing. WOW!

It's great to take a break from all the books and get together and have great fun. We had lots of fun. We played games, sang songs, and did skits. And yeah I really enjoyed the fun side of everyone last nite.

THE ALL-NITE PRAYER

Our Theme:praying for the missions in the world.

Last Night from 8:00 pm to 6 O'clock in the morning, we were praying. This is my second all-nite prayer but I am happy to see that more participated then last time. Last time on spring of 2006 somewhere in the week of April (probably the last one), probably less than 10 students joined that time. But last night more than 20 participated in a prayer for the missions of the world. We not only prayed but also did other things like sing praise and worship songs (4 O'clock in the morning), watched a movie, and hear an interesting presentation.

Like I said the theme was mission for the world. We prayed for missionaries who are being sent everyday to places like Iraq, Israel, China, India, Iran, and Afghanistan. These are few places that have people who have NOT heard the Gospel before. Not even once. There are many more places (you can check the link Joshua Project for more info about these places). We even prayed that one day Micronesia will send missionaries to those places. Hopefully from PIBC. We also prayed for those unreached places (place that haven't heard the Gospel) that one day they will be reached.

Personal Thoughts
Thinking about the presentation Steve gave, it really helped me to open my eyes and see the people in need of the Gospel. In my heart I really want my home , Micronesia, to take participate in the world mission. Steve gave a presentation about the unreached people especially in the 10/40 window (check Joshua Project for more info). In this world alone there are about 16,000 ethnic people group and only 6,600 have been reached which means that are only 9,400 ethnic people group that are unreached. Yeah that's alot. It's sad to know that that much is still left. It also makes me think about myself. I know I have the message and I know those people who haven't heard it, must in one way or another hear that message. I pray that God will bring up Micronesians to go those places and share the Gospel to them. He maybe will bring me up to go (which I pray that He might). Is. 6:8 says 'I heard the voice of the sovereign master say, “Whom will I send? Who will go on our behalf? ” I answered, “Here I am, send me!” I believe this should be our response to the call of missions. And maybe not just out there but also our in homes. God has a really big heart for missions. He wants the people of the world (reached and unreached) to know that He loves them and that He wants them to come back to Him. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be a ransom for all that through the shedding of His blood we may have peace with God. This is the message for the world to know.
